Emma
Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson, was born in Paris France of British parents Jacqueline Luesby Watson and Chris Watson both of whom were lawyers. They relocated to Oxfordshire when she was five and enrolled in the Dragon School. Emma's ambition was to become an actor. As a young girl of 6she was enrolled into the Oxford Stagecoach Theatre Arts branch and took lessons for acting, singing as well as dancing. Her performances had been in a variety of Stagecoach and school productions by the time she turned ten. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the film adaptation of J.K. Rowling's bestselling British novel was first cast in 1999. Emma was discovered by agents through the recommendation of her Oxford teacher. After eight auditions consistently, producer David Heyman told Emma and co-applicants Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint that they were cast for the roles of the three lead characters Hermione Granger Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. Emma's screen debut was Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone's release in the year 2001. It was the highest-grossing film of 2001 it set new records for its debut day sales as well as opening weekend takings. Reviewers praised the film and particularly the younger actors. The Daily Telegraph praised Emma for her excellent performance. Emma's performance was nominated and won five awards later for the film.
