Ana Gonzales bio

Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson grew growing up in Mexico with a family that was passionate about music. Growing up she was influenced by the classical music of her parents, boleros as well as the more traditional romantic, ranchero, and romance ballads. Ana is a lover of opera and tangos, and any dramatic performance. Following her singing lessons with mom at the age of 12, she took up more rigorous training in singing at 16, under the direction of renown Mexican Tenor FlavioBecerra. She studied in Guadalajara at the School of Music of University of Guadalajara as well as in Toluca in Toluca at the School of Sacred Music. While a young student and professional, she sang with numerous chamber ensembles and opera choruses in Guadalajara as well as Mexico City. In 2000 she moved back to the United States and sang with the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus. Later, in 2007 she moved to her home in southern California. She is currently a member of Ensemble XXI of Redlands and often performs as a soloist of the traditional Latin American music at private occasions. She has been involved with a number of local organizations and is a teacher as well as a performer due to her passion of music and art. Ana has been a part of the Community Chorus of Redlands (as as Inland Master Chorale) and Performance Loft. Ana feels privileged to have the opportunity to bring to others her passion for the traditional Latin American music. She hopes to help younger generations keep the tradition alive.
